CAF ANNOUNCES AN AFRICAN SUPER LEAGUE

The confederation of African Football (CAF) earlier today announced a new league tagged Africa super league.

The league will consist of 24 clubs from all Africa.
The total prize money of the CAF Africa Super League will be USD 100 million, with the winner receiving USD 11.5 million.

Each Member Association will receive USD 1 million per annum from the CAF Africa Super League funds.

The CAF Super League will be watched live all over in Africa and also streamed on all CAF platforms.

Two Premier league Giants Interested In Osimhen.

Premier League champions Manchester City and Manchester United are reportedly both interested in signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen, who was named Serie A Player of the Month for September has been in fantastic form for Napoli this season scoring seven goals in eight outings for the Partenopei so far.

According to Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, the two Manchester clubs are keen on bringing the 22-year-old to the Premier League, while Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain have also shown interest.

Napoli would only listen to offers in the region of €110m (£93m) for the in-demand attacker.

 Osimhen contract with Napoli expires in June 2025, placing the club in a strong position when it comes to any potential negotiations.

Brazilian Footballer Arrested For Kicking a Referee.

Brazilian footballer has been arrested for inflicting a shocking attack on a referee.

On Monday, Sao Paulo RS's away game against Gurani was abandoned when their player William Ribeiro kicked the referee in the head while he lay on the turf.

Gurani were winning 1-0 and the official Rodrigo Crivellaro called for a foul against Ribeiro in the early stages of the second half.

Ribero was utterly incensed with the decision and unleashed the violent assault, which left Crivellaro unconscious and forced to be taken to hospital.

the footage, Shows Gurani players holding Ribeiro back before riot police arrived on the pitch.

An ambulance also turned up to treat the Referee, who was then transferred to a nearby medical facility in Venancio Aires.

Delvid Goulart Pereira, president of Sao Paulo RS, confirmed Ribeiro's contract has been ripped up.

 "Unfortunate, regrettable and above all revolting," he said in a strong statement.

"The contract of the offending athlete is terminated. Furthermore, all possible legal measures in relation to the incident will be taken."

This isn't the first controversial incident Ribeiro has been involved in as he once attacked an opposition supporter.

Paul Onuachu Named Man of the match After Hat-trick Heroics.

 

Paul Onuachu was named Genk’s Man of the Match after netting a hat-trick in the 3-0 home win against RFC Seraing, in the Belgian Jupiler on Sunday night.


Onuachu took his tally for the season to nine goals after eight appearances for Genk.


He has now scored eight goals in his last five games in all competitions in the on-going campaign.


Following his hat-trick heroics, Genk announced Onuachu as the most outstanding player for his side on their verified Twitter handle


Onuachu is currently second in the top scorers chart in the Belgian elite division with nine goals, just two goal shy of Antwerp’s Michael Frey.


The victory against RFC Seraing took Genk to third on  the league table with 17 points.
