Paul Onuachu Named Man of the match After Hat-trick Heroics.

 

Paul Onuachu was named Genk’s Man of the Match after netting a hat-trick in the 3-0 home win against RFC Seraing, in the Belgian Jupiler on Sunday night.


Onuachu took his tally for the season to nine goals after eight appearances for Genk.


He has now scored eight goals in his last five games in all competitions in the on-going campaign.


Following his hat-trick heroics, Genk announced Onuachu as the most outstanding player for his side on their verified Twitter handle


Onuachu is currently second in the top scorers chart in the Belgian elite division with nine goals, just two goal shy of Antwerp’s Michael Frey.


The victory against RFC Seraing took Genk to third on  the league table with 17 points.

Former Super Falcons Star Mercy Akide Udoh interested in coaching the Super Eagles.



 Mercy Akide Udoh wants to become the first female to coach the Super Eagles of Nigeria.The Nigerian Football Legend  reveals interest in Super Eagles Coaching job.

On Wednesday, the former African Women’s footballer of the year and two-time FIFA World Cup All-Star implied she could throw her hat in for the Super Eagles job.


While she, relatively, remains on the fringes of the Super Falcons job conversation, a team she represented for over a decade, Akide-Udoh welcomed the prospect of becoming the first Woman head Coach of a Men's National team.

CAF REDUCES AUSTIN OLADAPO'S BAN TERM TO 6 MONTHS.

 


Oladapo to return on the 5th of January.


The Appeals Committee of the Confederation of African Football has halved the twelve months ban on Enyimba midfielder Austin Oladapo.


Oladapo was initially banned for one year for testing positive to prednisolone in a test conducted in May.


The initial ban meant that the Enyimba captain would stay away from all football related activities until July 2022, but following an appeal, the midfielder has now been cleared to return on January 5.


Oladapo had maintained that any trace of the substances found in his sample would have been from anti-Covid19 medications he was taking at the time, a stance that was also held by Enyimba.

Derby County enters Administration faces points deductions

 


Derby County have entered administration and been deducted 12 points by the English Football League amid ongoing financial problems at the club.

With the club losing between £1.3m and £1.5m per month according to owner Mel Morris, administrators have been appointed with the priority of paying creditors and HMRC; points deduction drops Derby to foot of Championship, six points adrift of Nottingham Forest, who were previously bottom

Andrew Hosking, Carl Jackson and Andrew Andronikou, managing directors at business advisory firm Quantuma, have been appointed joint administrators of the Sky Bet Championship club, who according to owner Mel Morris are losing between £1.3m and £1.5m per month.


Derby, managed by former England captain Wayne Rooney had taken 10 points from eight games so far, but now drop to the foot of the table, six points adrift of rivals Nottingham Forest, who were previously bottom.

Remo Stars unveil Gbenga Ogunbote as new Head Coach


Newly promoted Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL side, Remo Stars Sports Club have announced one of the veterans in Nigerian football coaching system, Gbenga Ogunbote as the new Head Coach of the club.


Gbenga Ogunbote fondly known as 'The Oracle' signed a year deal with the club to take over from former coach, Daniel Ogunmodede who led the team back into the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL.


The Oracle who has been into coaching for decades formerly tutored fellow southwest clubs like Gateway United, Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC and Sunshine Stars of Akure.


He was also in charge of former League Champions, Rangers International when the Flying Antelopes came from three goals down to beat Kano Pillars to the AITEO Cup crown in 2018.


Speaking with RSFC Media, Ogunbote said he is proud and happy to have joined Remo Stars FC and he his hoping to take the club to higher levels.


"I am very proud and happy to have joined Remo Stars, I hope to help the team to the level at which the club wants to ascertain."


"We have an ambition this season, before now the club has decided to maintain their stay in the NPFL which is my desire too but I will be so grateful if we go on to win the league or probably get a slot in any of the CAF competitions."


In the same vein, the Chief Executive Officer of Remo Stars, Mr. Lukmon Ogungbefun welcomed Gbenga Ogunbote to the club and  promised to support him to the fullest in achieving greatness for the club.


"I welcome Coach Gbenga Ogunbote to Remo Stars and I promise on behalf of the management that we will support him to the fullest."


"We want to ensure we remain in the league hence the appointment of Coach Ogunbote and we are optimistic that he will lead the team to greater heights."
